LETTERS FROM AFRICA

Published in 2010, Letters from Africa tells the story of families of freed slave descendants that returned to Africa in the 19th century. The book also rescues part of the Brazilian cultural heritage taken by these returnees to three African countries: Ghana, Benin and Nigeria. The book was part of a project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that included a touring exhibition in 11 African countries: Cape Verde, Senegal, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Angola, Mozambique, Sao Tome and Principe, Botswana and South Africa.
