CHILOÉ 1997-2015

Chile is a coastal country, which extends for more than 4,000 kilometers, with an average width not exceeding 300. Viewed from a satellite, the country looks like a dagger pointed at Antarctica. If we look through a magnifying glass, however, we can see that this long coastline has infinite intricacies, within which are hidden infinite characters and stories. Chiloé is one of those intricacy, an archipelago with a rich history and a special relationship with the sea. The photos below, which were made over many years, are an attempt to rescue some of these stories. In 2015, these photos were used in the book Bordemar, published by Editorial Ocho Libros, in Chile.
